![]() ![]() Kills are important, but farming is in my opinion the most important aspect to winning.Īlso know when to back. I've had a game in beta where I had 20+ kills and was third on my team in points earned. Fight when needed, but always continue to farm and defend/attack objectives. So while focusing your energy on killing opposing players and getting 20+ kills is fun, it may not win you the game. Killing enemies are important, but so is farming creeps (wild pokemon) and turning in your collected Pokeballs. Points are earned in many ways, and your objective should be to ALWAYS collect points. Your objective is NOT to destroy the enemies base (or Nexus), but to accumulate the most points. Standard MOBA's like LoL and DotA are different games then Pokemon Unite. Here's some examples of when I played AoV around two years ago: Ranked Loss 15/1/4 Ranked Loss 24/1/3 Not easy to do sometimes, but you'll be better off not shit-talking other players for having less skill than you. Expect it, understand it, and have fun no matter what. It's OKAY to dominate a game and still lose. ![]() So have fun, be nice to others, understand that not everyone will be as good as you, and don't ruin other peoples fun if they aren't. ![]() I am a competitive person, no doubt, and I play ranked games to win. This information is based on years of experience and is more to provide guidance for new players to have the most enjoyable experience possible.)īefore the actual guide, let's start here: play this game (or any game) to have fun. I haven't actually played one in over a year. (Please note as stated above, I'm by no means an expert with MOBA's. Based on my year+ of experience with AoV, I figured out quickly how to succeed in Pokemon Unite, even on many feeding teams. In Pokemon Unite beta, I won each of the 12 games I played. That's nothing to brag about considering the small player base, but the point is I feel I can provide helpful data to those looking for advice before Pokemon Unite launches. In Arena of Valor, from the same developers as Pokemon Unite, I made it to rank 32 in the world (at one point when I was the most active) on the Nintendo Switch version. Since then, I've played almost every popular MOBA including SMITE, DotA 2, Heroes of the Storm, Paragon, and Arena of Valor. ![]() Played that for years, never past Diamond ranked, but became very familiar with everything MOBA related. I played this for years, until League of Legends came out. I was able to play DotA before it even released to the public through a mutual online friend who knew a friend of the creator(s). Actually since the first MOBA ever was introduced (DotA for Warcraft 3, assuming that was the first?) I'm out of touch with Pokemon for the most part, and while I'm not incredibly gifted at them, I've been playing MOBA's for years. To be honest, I've played Pokemon games years ago (on Gameboy) but not many recently. What that means is, while this guide is for Pokemon Unite (I did play 2 of the 3 Japanese Beta days over 12 games) it's based more on MOBA's in general. While this will likely help new players more than experienced ones, I'm basing this guide on years of experience in the MOBA genre more so than basing it on Pokemon Unite data. It's not meant to be extremely in-depth - just some things I thought about that I would like newer players to the MOBA genre to know. I decided today to make a mini-guide to help players looking to jump into Pokemon Unite on the 21st. ![]()
